As a series, Dead Space has been dormant since the third game was released back in 2013. After a very long hiatus, Dead Space is finally back in the form of a remake of the original game from 2008. While all the main story points are the same as they were in the original Dead Space, players will come across many changes that help make this game feel like a new experience for both new and old players alike.

Getting Started in Dead Space
While the remake of this classic survival horror game will feel very familiar to those who played the original, all sorts of new options have been added to the game to bring it up to modern standards. There are new many different accessibility settings, including color-blind options and the ability to have QTEs either auto-complete or just require a single button push to complete them.

Just like with the original game, the remake tells the story of how Isaac Clarke first encountered Necromorphs. Isaac is part of the emergency maintenance team sent by Concordance Extraction Corporation (CEC for short) to investigate a distress call from the USG Ishimura, a massive ship used for breaking up dead planets for resources.
What starts as a normal emergency repair job turns into a horrific nightmare. The emergency repair crew is attacked by terrifying monsters known as the Necromorphs, and they end up trapped on the ship with no means of escape. While trying to stay alive, Isaac is also looking for his girlfriend who was stationed aboard the Ishimura. In order to survive the Necromorph outbreak, Dead Space players will need to get creative. Fortunately, the USG Ishimura has no shortage of dangerous work tools that could be turned into weapons to use against the Necromorphs. While a tool like the Plasma Cutter isn't technically a weapon, it is highly effective when it comes to dismembering a Necromorph.
